Lecture of Dr. George Kostakis (University of Sussex, the UK)

Dr. George Kostakis from the University of Sussex (the UK) gave a lecture “Modern perspectives in 3d/4f coordination chemistry”. The lecture was held at conference-hall of Samara Center for Theoretical Materials Science on December 15, 2015.

Dr. Kostakis defended his MSc and Ph.D. thesis at the University of Ioannina (Greece). He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Nanotechnology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Karlsruhe, Germany. From 2013 Dr. Kostakis teaches as a Senior Lecturer in Physical/Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Sussex. Research group of Dr. Kostakis is spec ialized in coordination chemistry, conducts synthesis and research of materials with catalytic, magnetic and adsorption properties. Scientific interests of Dr. Kostakis also include topological properties. He developed Polynuclear Inorganic Cluster Database: PICS, he also was awarded several grants. Dr. Kostakis is an author of 87 research papers.
