Professor Vladislav Blatov participated in the 2nd Workshop on Advanced Materials Frontiers at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (January 15–18, 2026) and presented a paper entitled "Geometrical and Topological Models of Crystalline Materials."The workshop was organized jointly with Northwestern Polytechnical University (Xi'an, China), where Professor Vladislav Blatov is a visiting professor. More than 60 scientists from Europe, Asia, and the Russian Federation participated in the workshop. A roundtable discussion concluded the workshop, focusing on university collaborations for joint student training and collaborations to address challenges in modern materials science. Professor Vladislav Blatov focused his presentation on the development of information-based materials science.
"This is the second seminar on this topic organized by North-West Polytechnic University; the first was held two years ago in Grenoble, France," comments Prof. Vladislav Blatov. "The seminar covered a wide range of modern materials science challenges and advanced materials classes. It was crucial to learn about what our colleagues in Europe are working on, given that our contacts are currently severely limited. The seminar facilitated the establishment of new scientific ties; in particular, we agreed with our Chinese colleagues to meet in May 2026 in Moscow at the BRICS conference, which will be organized by Bauman Moscow State Technical University."
