20250310-04Senior researcher at the SCTMS Artem Kabanov has won the 2025 competition for grants from the Russian Science Foundation for the event "Conducting research based on the existing world-class scientific infrastructure." The project will be implemented over three years with funding of 6 million rubles per year.

Project 25-73-20115 "Theoretical search for new solid electrolytes and intermediate layer materials for lithium- and sodium-ion batteries" is aimed at developing new materials for all-solid-state batteries that should have a higher energy storage capacity and be safer than traditional batteries. The project involves a large number of theoretical calculations, so it was submitted as part of the "infrastructure" competition of the Russian Science Foundation and will allow access to the Center for the Shared Use of Ultra-High-Performance Computing Resources of Moscow University.

The research team includes ten employees of the SCTMS and the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Samara Polytechnic University, including five students and two postgraduates.

“Receiving a grant from the Russian Science Foundation is always a great and pleasant event, and I am very glad that our team won this competition. This opens up the opportunity for us to further develop the area related to the development of new materials for metal-ion batteries, support young employees, and will also allow us to use one of the largest supercomputers in Russia to perform complex calculations,” comments Artem Kabanov, head of the research team.
