Employees of SCTMS took part in the XXXIII Russian Youth Scientific Conference with international participation "Problems of Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor V. Barkovsky. The conference was held at Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg) from April 24 to April 27, 2023.Maria Solodovnikova and Dr. Alexander Burchakov made oral presentations in the Section of Thermodynamics and Structures of Inorganic Systems.
Alexander Burchakov's report "Thermodynamic calculation of high-entropy alloys and phase diagrams based on them" was prepared in collaboration with M. Emelyanov. In the study, a thermodynamic calculation of the stability of the formation of a disordered alloy solid solution was carried out, a comparison of the calculated data with experimental data on the phase states of high-entropy alloys. And also, for the first time, 3D modeling of the phase complex of the three-component Fe-Co-Mn system was carried out in the “composition-temperature” coordinates. Alexander's report is recommended for publication as an article in a special issue of the journal Chimica Techno Acta, which is included in the international Scopus database.
Maria Solodovnikova spoke about the crystal chemical analysis of stable phases in the Mg-Al-Zn system. The co-authors of the report are Dr. E. Egorova and Dr. O.Blatova. In the course of the study, a number of intermetallic compounds were selected and nanocluster modeling was carried out for each structure of the system. The mechanochemical synthesis of Mg17Al12 intermetallic compound was also tested. Maria's report was awarded a diploma.
