SCTMS employees spoke at the international conference in Ufa
29 September 2021

20210929-01Prof. Vladislav Blatov, Dr. Artem Kabanov and Elizaveta Morkhova returned from the XVI international conference "Actual problems of energy conversion in lithium electrochemical systems", which was held from 20 to 24 September in Ufa, on the basis of the Ufa Institute of Chemistry of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Vladislav Blatov made a plenary report in the section "Research of electrode and electrolyte materials by methods of computer modeling, quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics", in which he spoke about the methods of computer design of active materials for metal-ion batteries.

The report of Elizaveta Morkhova “Battery Materials Database”, co-authored by SCTMS employees Dr. Artem Kabanov, Dr. Natalya Kabanova and Prof. V. Blatov, was devoted to the Battery Materials database developed at SCTMS.

Dr .Artem Kabanov co-authored several conference reports. He presented the results of joint work with colleagues from Yekaterinburg "Theoretical and experimental study of ionic conductivity in the Li7-xLa3Zr2-xTaxO12 system" properties of DRX oxides: Li1+0.5xTixMn1-1.5xO2 and Li1+yNbyMn1-2yO2 and together with E. Morkhova he co-authored in the work of Daria Semikina from the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the RAS. In addition, Dr. A. Kabanov was one of the co-authors of the report by Saratov scientists from SSU N.G. Chernyshevsky "Experiment and quantum-chemical evaluation of the diffusion parameters of lithium ions in the electrode material".

The conference was attended by representatives of scientific and industrial organizations from Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Krasnodar and other cities of Russia, as well as Israel, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Australia. The participants discussed the problems of creating and improving lithium and lithium-ion power sources, the peculiarities of the properties of new nano-structured materials for positive and negative electrodes of lithium power sources, problems of their synthesis, etc., and this topic is one of the main topics in the activities of SCTMS. The discussion in each of the seven sections included a plenary and a keynote speech, as well as a number of oral presentations. In total, more than 70 oral presentations took place, and almost 30 reports were presented as part of the poster session.
