On February 19, 2020 a workshop was held in the Samara branch of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LPI RAS). The workshop discussed the reports of the employees of the SCTMS Eugeny Alexandrov and Artem Kabanov.Scientists of the Samara branch of the LPI RAS got to know some scientific works of the SCTMS and could ask questions, as well as outline the points for cooperation and future work plan.
Eugeny Alexandrov presented his work in the field of design and synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOF) – materials with a microporous structure, which have a wide range of applications, both in industry and in everyday life, as adsorbents, molecular filters, and gas storage substances, etc.
Artem Kabanov talked about modeling for properties of solids using the density functional theory (DFT) method and focused special attention to the modeling for optical properties - refractive index, dielectric tensor, photoelasticity.
