Dr. Tilmann Leisegang from the Institute of Experimental Physics TU Bergakademie Freiberg (IEP TUBAF, Germany) is again visiting the SCTMS. His monthly stay in Samara (February 8 - March 10) is devoted to work in several scientific fields and writing a joint applications for grant funding.
In particular, during the visit of Dr. T. Leisegang two joint Russian-German applications were prepared for the RFBR fund: project to develop new cathode materials for aluminum-ion batteries and to search for new pyroelectric materials. The results of the competition will be announced at the end of 2019.
Another scientific area in which Dr. T. Leisegang actively participates is associated with the study of intermetallic compounds, including experimental work and theoretical methods of interpreting experimental data. For example, one of the scandium-based compositions currently being studied was predicted in the SCTMS and successfully synthesized later by Dr. Pavlo Solokha at the University of Genoa (Italy). During his stay in Samara, Dr. Leisegang together with the SCTMS members is working on the completion of a scientific manuscript, which describes all the stages of the study and results.
