On October 2-6, 2017, Bad Staffelstein (Germany) gathered together experts in chemistry of intermetallics for the International Conference and School Intermetallics 2017. Tatiana Akhmetshina made an oral contribution to the conference program.
The conference took place at the Kloster Banz, a former cloister, now well known as an educational center in a picturesque region of Bavaria. The lectures of the school were dedicated to mechanical behavior of intermetallic phases. Invited speakers of the school and the conference represented Germany, France, India and Japan. More than 150 scientists contributed to oral and poster sessions.
Tatiana Akhmetshina presented the oral report “Structural units in intermetallics: a topological study”. Topological analysis method of intermetallics enables determining structural units of this class of compounds. Tatiana managed to collect statistics on all coordination polyhedra, analyze 2D networks in intermetallics and update the collection of intermetallic clusters by adding new descriptors.
