The International school for young researchers “Smart Nanomaterials” was held on September 11-15, 2017 in Rostov-on-Don. Prof. Davide M. Proserpio participated as an invited speaker; Dr. Eugeny Alexandrov was among the participants.
The 6th International school “Smart Nanomaterials” was conducted by the Smart Materials Research Center of the Southern Federal University. The main topics of the school included synthesis of functional materials (MOFs, precious metal catalysts, photo and magneto-optical switchable molecules, colloid nanoparticles); spectroscopy (in situ and time resolved studies using synchrotrons and free electron lasers); computer-aided nano-design (prediction of structure, electronic and magnetic properties, multi-scale modelling, molecular dynamics, light-matter interaction).
Prof. Proserpio gave the lecture “Topological characterization of coordination networks and MOFs” and conducted hands-on course on TOPOS code. Dr. Alexandrov presented his research developments «Screening of 2d coordination polymers for nanosheets production» made in cooperation with Prof. Lucia Carlucci (Italy), Prof. Davide M. Proserpio, Prof. Vladislav Blatov and Atsushi Kondo (Japan).
