The article "Stability of Inorganic Ionic Structures: The Uniformity Approach" by Professor Vladislav Blatov and Dr. Alexander Shevchenko, Senior Researcher at the SCTMS, published in Acta Crystallographica Section A, became the most cited paper of 2025.The paper examines the relationship between the geometric arrangement of ions and the stability of a crystal structure. The authors propose a set of numerical criteria for the uniformity of such an arrangement to assess the stability of ionic compounds. It is shown that structures with low uniformity are metastable, non-ionic, or contain errors in the original data.
