Inna Medrish, a senior researcher at the SCTMS, has won the 2025 competition for grants from the Russian Science Foundation for the "Fundamental and Exploratory Research by Small Individual Research Groups" program. The project will be implemented over two years with 1.5 million rubles per year in funding.Competition application number and topic: 25-23-01008 "Crystal-chemical systematics of inorganic nitrides and prediction of new high-energy polynitrides."
The project plans to combine modern semi-quantitative (geometric-topological) and quantitative (quantum-mechanical) methods for modeling and predicting the structure and properties of new inorganic metal nitrides and polynitrides to search for composition-structure-property correlations. The integrated theoretical approach proposed in the project will be used to predict new nitride-containing high-energy materials. The developed analysis and forecasting methods will be integrated into existing software, and the forecasting results will be implemented in the form of a database that will be freely accessible online.
