Aleksandr Shevchenko gave a guest lecture at NUMGRID 2018-Voronoi150
12 December 2018

?A senior research scientist of Samara Center for Theoretical Materials Science, Aleksandr Shevchenko took part in the 9th International Conference “Numerical Geometry, Grid Generation and Scientific Computing” (NUMGRID 2018-Voronoi150) held on December 3-5, 2018 in Moscow.

The Conference NUMGRID 2018-Voronoi150 was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of G.F. Voronoi, a well-known Russian mathematician. Dorodnicyn Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences organized the conference. The participants’ reports will be published in the series “Lecture Notes in Computational Science and Engineering” of Springer.

Aleksandr Shevchenko gave the invited lecture “Voronoi partitioning in crystal chemistry: algorithms, software and application”. The conference program included only 6 invited lectures and 30 reports, but every report or lecture provided insight into work of a whole research group in a certain area. The conference with a broad geography of participants proved to be a platform for fruitful exchange of ideas among experts in various spheres, who apply numerical geometry, modeling, high-performance computations.
